N2088 has paper log files back through about 1950. I also have a set of microfiche documents that got back to the earliest registration. In November of 2003 I ordered the CD Rom of all the aircraft records through that date from the FAA. Interestingly, certain documents in the microfiche didn't get onto the CD, including the letter that authorizes the 30 gallon wing tanks.
